Introduction

About LGSS Law Ltd

LGSS Law Ltd which is the first Local Authority owned law firm to have commenced trading within the UK. Since our launch on the 1st of April 2015 we have been delivering legal services to our 100 client Organisations through a limited company licensed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, to trade as a law firm.

LGSS Law is owned by three County Councils and its team of 140 highly experienced staff work out of our head office in Huntingdon and across our branch offices in Cambridge, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire (Shefford). Using the latest case management technology which enables a ‘virtual’ legal office, we are able to seamlessly deploy the capacity of the entire team to support all of our clients, wherever they are based, providing a level of resilience which is not deliverable within smaller teams.

The team also benefits from carefully developed business processes which ensure client matters are dealt with efficiently and expeditiously. This is reflected by the team having obtained and maintained LEXCEL accreditation, the Law Society’s quality mark, for more than 6 years.

As well as resilience and service quality, LGSS Law Ltd provides excellent value for money which is the key factor in the growth of client numbers over the last 3 years during which the work undertaken for new external clients has grown by almost 300%.

Although our model is business-like and shares much in common with commercial firms we do not have a partnership structure and our office overheads are kept to a minimum through utilising less expensive accommodation and minimal marketing spend.

We believe that this new model of legal services provision fills an important gap in the range of options available to organisations in the public and not for profit sectors. Key to achieving this success is the sharing with our clients of the benefits derived from scale and we are actively seeking to collaborate with more Organisations in order to further enhance our services, cost effectiveness and mutual benefits.

If you would like to find out more about LGSS Law, we would be delighted to visit you and explain in more detail how our services work and the different ways in which we can engage with many Organisations or alternatively for further information please see our Information Brochures
